Sculpted, retopo and textured in 3DCoat.
I always liked the idea behind Dyntopo and Sculptris Pro. Working without thinking about subdivisions, topology... I actually used the first one a lot, but they are very limited when poly count goes higher than 100k. So I was very impressed with 3DCoat's live clay, which in this piece got to around 4 million polygons with justa a bit of navidation lag. It is some kind of sorcery.
Of course you need to get used to 3DC's strange tools, but I quite liked them. They feel like a soft clay, sometimes mud haha. But they are cool for this type of expressive work.
Gonna mess around a bit more with this tools.
